CBSE 10th result 2016: 96.21 per cent students pass, girls on top again

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced the results of class 10 examinations 2016 on its website. Although the class 10 results were expected around 2 pm, the scores were posted on the website around 12:30 pm itself.Students can get their results from the board’s website www.cbse.nic.in or www.results.nic.in or www.cbseresults.nic.in.

The total pass percentage stands at 96.21 per cent, but it has fallen compared to the previous year in which 97.32 per cent students passed the examinations.

With a pass percentage of 96.36 per cent, girls outshone boys in the CBSE Class X exams results of which were declared today.

The boys registered a pass percentage of 96.11 per cent.

Thiruvananthapuram city, the capital of Kerala, has the highest pass percentage at 99.87 per cent followed by Chennai region which had a pass percentage of 99.69 percent.

 




 

Girls scored higher with an average score of 96.36 per cent while boys averaged 96.11 per cent.

Of the 1,68,541 students who scored a full CGPA of 10 points, 85,316 were male and 83,225 were female students.

A total of 14,91,293 candidates were registered for Class X examination, an increase of about 8.5 per cent candidate over last year.

Category wise, the Central Government run Jawahar Navodyaya Vidyalayas have scored a pass percentage of 98.87 per cent followed by Kendriya Vidyalayas which have a pass percentage of 98.85 per cent.

Independent schools have a pass percentage of 97.72 per cent while government schools recorded a pass percentage of 86.61 per cent.

According to data shared by CBSE, 85.62 percent students of Government aided schools cleared the exam.
