This gives us a first look at the design of the next generation 2017 Hyundai Verna (or Accent/Solaris in other markets), which will arrive in India next year.

Next-Gen 2017 Hyundai Verna

Korean car maker Hyundai unveiled Verna concept at the Auto China 2016 in Beijing International Automobile Exhibition on Monday. The concept sheds light on the new generation Verna sedan which is due to make an entry in India and global markets in 2017.

To feature an evolutionary exterior

As the concept’s styling suggest, the next generation Hyundai Verna will feature an evolutionary exterior influenced by the company’s current Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language.

 Hexagonal grille

Like Hyundai’s latest products, the next gen Verna will feature a large hexagonal grille, sleek projector headlamps
and sportier bumpers.

Redesigned C-pillar

The side profile appears to be more or less similar to the current Hyundai Verna, save for a redesigned C-pillar and rear door.

Liftback-esque appearance

The roofline seems to flow into the rear-end of the car, giving it a liftback-esque appearance.

Engine lineup not revealed

Being a concept, Hyundai hasn’t revealed the engine lineup or performance figures.

At the Auto China 2016, better known as the Beijing Motor Show, Korean car maker Hyundai has unveiled a new concept sedan that gives a preview of the 2017 Hyundai Verna. The car will is based on the Hyundai popular Fluidic Sculpture Design 2.0 philosophy as most of the company’s latest products. The concept model comes with whole new style package as well that resembles largely resembles the new generation Elite i20 in many ways.

The 2017 Verna Concept is undoubtedly packed with Hyundai DNA, which is extensively visible from its smooth character line. The concept version tells us that biggest change to the next-gen Hyundai Verna will be made to the front end of the car, which as we mentioned earlier has been inspired from the new i20’s design. At the front the concept car gets a large chrome hexagonal grille with the company’s signature honeycomb pattern grille, which is flanked by a pair of long sweptback headlamps that comes with projector units. The concept also features a new sporty front bumper with protruding silver chin and large air intakes.

The rear end of the car looks extensively new and now features a notchback like design, which to be frank looks really nice and we wish it would be carried forward to the production version as well. The rear section feature stylish LED wraparound tail lamps and a muscular rear bumper with boomerang shaped reflectors.

The Verna has been a very successful product for Hyundai in India in the mid-segment sedan space. It was only last year that the carmaker launched the new facelift version of the car and now it seems the carmaker is gearing up to bring the next generation model as well. We expect the car to be launched in India in the latter part of 2017.
